1. Scope
This Privacy Policy explains how OmniSave ("OmniSave", "we", "us", or "our") handles information when you use videodownloader.site, related OmniSave web pages and APIs, and the OmniSave Video Sniffer Chrome extension (collectively, the "Services").
2. Information handled by the Chrome extension
The extension handles the following information only as needed to provide media detection and download features:
- Page and media information: URLs, page titles, media URLs, file names, media types, sizes, resolutions, and request metadata from pages you visit.
- Website content: media elements and related page data used to identify video, audio, and subtitle resources.
- Authentication information: an OmniSave account token, if you sign in on our website, stored in Chrome local storage so the extension can access account-only cloud parsing features.
- Cookies used for downloads: when a selected media file requires the session of the source website, the extension may read the relevant cookies and attach them locally to that download request. These source-site cookies are not sent to OmniSave servers.
- Local extension data: detected resource lists, download state, settings, and temporary session data.
Media detection normally takes place on your device. The extension does not continuously send your browsing history to OmniSave. It processes the current page and its media requests to perform the feature you requested.
3. Cloud parsing and account services
Cloud parsing is initiated only when you choose the parse feature. When used, the extension sends the source URL you selected, your OmniSave account token, language/time-zone information, and ordinary network request information such as IP address and user agent to our service endpoint at api.seocloud.biz. We use this information to authenticate your request, process the selected URL, return media results, prevent abuse, secure the Services, and diagnose failures.
Signing in through the website may involve an authentication provider such as Google or Firebase. We may receive basic account information made available by that provider, such as your user identifier, email address, display name, and profile image. We do not receive your third-party account password.
4. Website, analytics, advertising, and logs
When you use the website, we and our service providers may process URLs or search terms you submit, IP address, browser and device information, approximate region, referring page, page interactions, diagnostic events, and cookies or similar technologies. We use this information to operate, secure, measure, and improve the Services.
The website may display advertising and use analytics or performance services. Those providers may set or read their own cookies and process device or usage information under their own privacy policies. The Chrome extension does not inject advertising into third-party websites and does not sell extension user data for advertising purposes.
5. How we use information
- Provide media detection, downloads, cloud parsing, authentication, and customer support.
- Maintain download and task status and remember user preferences.
- Protect users and the Services from fraud, abuse, security incidents, and technical failures.
- Measure performance, troubleshoot issues, and improve features.
- Comply with applicable law and enforce our rights.
6. Sharing of information
We may share information only in the following circumstances:
- Service providers: hosting, authentication, security, analytics, advertising, and infrastructure providers that process information for the purposes described above.
- Legal and safety reasons: where reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect rights and safety, investigate abuse, or respond to valid legal requests.
- Business transfers: in connection with a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate safeguards.
- With your direction or consent: when you ask us to send information to another service or otherwise authorize the disclosure.
We do not sell personal information handled by the Chrome extension, and we do not use or transfer extension user data for purposes unrelated to the extension's single purpose of detecting and downloading user-selected media, except for security, legal compliance, or service operation as permitted by Chrome Web Store policies.
7. Storage, retention, and deletion
Extension settings, detected resources, session state, and the OmniSave account token are stored locally by Chrome. You can remove them by clearing the extension's site data, signing out where available, or uninstalling the extension.
Server-side account, task, security, and diagnostic records are retained only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including providing the Services, resolving disputes, preventing abuse, and meeting legal obligations. Retention periods may differ by record type. We delete or de-identify information when it is no longer needed, unless continued retention is required by law.
8. Security and international processing
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Our providers and infrastructure may process information in countries other than your own. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers.
9. Your choices and rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, deletion of, restriction of, or a copy of your personal information, and to object to or withdraw consent for certain processing. You may also control cookies through your browser, stop cloud parsing by not invoking it, clear local extension data, or uninstall the extension.
To make a privacy request, contact us using the address below. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request. You may also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
10. Children's privacy
The Services are not directed to children under 13, or the minimum age required by local law. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
11. Third-party websites and lawful use
The Services may interact with or link to third-party websites. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies. You are responsible for using OmniSave only with content you are authorized to access and download and in accordance with applicable law and the terms of the source website.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes to the Services, law, or our practices. We will post the updated version here and revise the "Last updated" date. Material changes may also be communicated through the Services where appropriate.
